"Caramel" Date Glazed Apples / Date Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of pitted dates
  • 1 tablespoon unrefined coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoon 100 percent pure maple syrup
  • 1 pinch of sea salt

Additional Ingredients

  • Apples Peanuts, Dark Chocolate Chips, All Natural Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Add dates, coconut oil, maple syrup and sea salt into a food processor
  • Pulse together for at least 1-2 minutes until a thick, sticky and creamy consistency is formed
  • To make "caramel" apples, remove stems from apples
  • Place a wooden craft stick in apples, in place of their original stem
  • Cover apples with date glaze
  • Press decorative edible treats on the outside of the apple (peanuts, chocolate chips, sprinkles)
  • Place decorated apples on a plate or baking sheet and place in the refrigerator to set for 30 minutes
  • Enjoy!

This recipe will make enough glaze to cover 3 small apples or 2 medium apples. I would recommend doubling the recipe for good measure! It's always nice to have more than enough glaze, than not enough!
