Hi Friends! If you follow me on Snapchat (@HlthyGroceryGrl) you’ve been seeing all the behind the scenes of our work & life lately which has been really busy! We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary this summer & took a quick trip to Tahoe, we spent a few days in eastern Washington getting footage of Organic Wheat Fields for our video client Alvarado Street Bakery & we’ve been busy creating new content to share with you guys on our YouTube channel and blog! I’m sure you can relate that it is hard to eat well when you’re busy! We do our best but we definitely rely on more healthy convenience items such as oatmeal packets, snack bars and smoothies we pick up from smoothie shops!
I’ve also been a fan of trying different meal kit services that deliver ingredients that we then prep into meals. We recently tried Hello Fresh and I wanted to share with you our experience! I actually remember discovering Hello Fresh really early on when they were only delivering on the East Coast! They have grown so much in the past few years and now deliver all across the United States!
Highlights From My Hello Fresh Experience!
- All boxes include recipe cards that are simple and easy-to-follow. All of our meals took less than 30 minutes
- Hello Fresh has a variety of meal boxes to choose from such as classic, vegetarian to family-friendly (We chose the vegetarian box!)
- Meals are about $10 each. We had leftovers from one of our dishes, which was nice for lunch the next day!
- Each recipe card also includes full nutrition information, which is great for those with specific dietary needs
- The ingredients were fresh & the meals turned out great! So we call it a win!
I’ve included photos below so you can see how we created 2 out of the 3 meals that were sent to us! If you’d like to try Hello Fresh you can use our Coupon Code GROCERYGIRL for $35 off of your first box! Yay! I always like to get discounts for our HGG community when I can!
First we tried the Zucchini & Smokey Bean Quesadillas! The southwest spice blend that comes with this meal was amazing! Also we appreciated that the ingredients were separated into their own packets or containers, making it easy to adapt the recipe to our personal dietary preferences! This is great if you have a family member who does not care for a particular ingredient. For example, this dish came with cheese however because we eat dairy-free it was really easy to just leave it out!
Next we tried Vegetarian Paella! YUM! As you can see from the photos this was a veg heavy meal which I love. This is the dish that we even had some leftovers that I ate for lunch the next day! Overall we loved our Hello Fresh experience! Let me know in the comment below if you give it a try!
Thanks so much for stopping by the HGG Blog today! xx Megan
