Happy Thursday! If you follow Healthy Grocery Girl on Instagram and Facebook you know that last week I traveled to Los Angeles for the Natural Products Expo West and then Chicago to attend the International Home and Housewares Show. Both Expo events were a lot of fun and I filmed a Behind The Scenes HGG Show episode for each Expo, these videos will post in a few weeks! Traveling, as I am sure you can relate to, can make it difficult to eat healthy. I really have to plan ahead and bring along healthy snacks to keep my energy levels up and also to save money! Dining out and airport food can be incredibly expensive and often, not a healthy choice. We do pretty good when traveling, however it still does not compare to making healthy meals from home. That being said today’s Healthy Grocery Girl Show episode is so timely because I am so excited eat more greens now that I’m home!
My Go To Cleansing Green Slushy
Today I am sharing with you how to make a cleansing and detoxifying Green Slushy, which is a recipe from the Healthy Grocery Girl Nutrition Plan Member Site. I love this slushy in the afternoon as a pick-me up and it’s full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and is also hydrating and refreshing.

- 1 cup of fresh greens spinach, arugula and / or kale
- 1 medium apple cored and sliced
- 1/2 fresh lemon juiced
- 1/2 cucumber sliced
- 1 cup of coconut water
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger *optional
- Wash all produce
- Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender
- Blend on high for 20-30 seconds
