SUPER IMMUNE BOOSTING SMOOTHIE

| | | | | | | | | | |

Hi Friends! Welcome back to the blog! As a new mom my main topics of conversation these days are sleep, feeding Ella and the temperature! Southern California can get hot, hot, hot! In fact, it’s going to be in the 100’s this week as I write this post. I love making smoothies to help hydrate, nourish and energize my body with plant-powered ingredients. When I’m feeling run down, the following smoothie is a great pick-me-up.

IMMUNITY + WELLNESS TIPS!

In addition to drinking a daily plant-powered smoothie, below are 4 tips I follow to help me feel my best as a busy, working mama!

HYDRATE: Signs of dehydration include achy joints, feeling run down, fatigued, difficulty making decisions, or feeling on edge or flustered! Plain filtered water is a great way to hydrate as well as drinking homemade juices or smoothies, herbal teas, sparkling water and also consuming water-dense fruits and vegetables.

EXERCISE: Okay I know, the last thing you want to do when you’re tired is anything that requires a lot of energy, like exercise. However, I feel better all around and have more energy throughout the day when I fit in some movement! What is realistic for me right now with a baby at home is to do some Pilates, stretches, squats and free-weights at home. I try and get 10–20 minutes of exercise in 3–5 days a week. I’m realistic and flexible with my exercise routine—doing a little bit consistently is better than not exercising at all!

CHANGE OF SCENERY: I work from home, which means that I’m home A LOT. I’m naturally a homebody; however, too many hours inside and I start to feel run down and agitated. Going outside for a walk in the fresh air or even a trip to Target or the grocery store can improve my mood so easily! It’s a mini vacation that helps me return to my daily routine refreshed.

SUPPLEMENT TO SUPPORT OPTIMAL HEALTH: I always recommend trying to meet your dietary needs from real, whole foods first. However, no one eats a perfect diet, which means we may experience dietary gaps and miss out on key vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and probiotics that can support gut, immune and overall health. I take a multi-vitamin, vitamin D, and probiotic supplement every day. Culturelle® Health & Wellness safely and naturally restores the balance of good bacteria in your digestive tract, where 70% of the body’s immune system resides. Balancing the bacteria in the intestines not only helps optimize your immune system and supports your natural defenses, but also helps your digestive system work better. With 15 billion live active cultures of 100% Lactobacillus rhamnosusGG, the most clinically-studied probiotic strain, each capsule contains a clinical strength serving of probiotics.
